Skilled Nursing Respite Care

Support that allows families to rest—without worry

Caring for a medically fragile child is constant. It requires strength, patience, and an incredible amount of love. Respite care exists to give families planned, temporary relief—while ensuring their child continues to receive attentive, skilled medical care in a safe and supportive environment.

At Able Path Care, respite is more than a break. It is an intentional service designed to help families regain balance, restore energy, and sustain long-term caregiving, one moment at a time.

What Respite Care Means at Able Path Care

Respite care provides short-term skilled nursing support for families caring for children with complex medical needs. It allows caregivers the opportunity to step away—whether for rest, work, appointments, or family responsibilities—knowing their child is in capable, compassionate hands.

Respite helps families:

  • Reduce physical and emotional exhaustion
  • Prevent caregiver burnout
  • Maintain family stability and well-being
  • Continue caring for their child with renewed strength

We believe caring for a child also means caring for the family as a whole.

How Able Path Care Provides Respite Services

Able Path Care delivers respite through licensed skilled nursing services provided by experienced Registered Nurses (RNs) and Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), to ensure continuity and clinical safety.
Families may choose the setting that best meets their needs.

In-Home Skilled Nursing Respite

For families who prefer care in the comfort of their own home, our skilled nurses provide respite services in a familiar, reassuring environment.

In-home respite allows children to remain in their daily routines while caregivers take time to rest, attend appointments, or focus on other family needs—without disruption to care.

Skilled Nursing Respite in a Nurturing Care Environment

Able Path Care also offers skilled nursing respite in a nurturing care environment created to support both children and families.

This setting is not a hospital and not an institutional or confined space. It is a carefully supervised, child-centered environment designed to feel calm, welcoming, and reassuring—while still providing the medical oversight children with complex needs require.

This option offers families peace of mind, knowing their child is:

  • Cared for by licensed skilled nurses
  • Supported with pediatrician oversight
  • Monitored according to an individualized care plan
  • In a safe, structured, and compassionate environment

Our goal is to provide a space where children feel supported—and families feel confident stepping away for a planned period of rest.
